Supply Lock vs Permanent Liquidity Lock

Updated 2026-10-07 · 4 min read

Supply lock and liquidity lock protect different assets. Mixing them together can make a token look safer or more restrictive than its real configuration, so LaunchMemes describes them separately.

What the supply lock covers

  • 85% of the total NEXT token supply.
  • That equals 850,000,000 out of 1,000,000,000 tokens.
  • Configured duration: 10 years.
  • Configured as a one-time unlock after the vesting duration.
  • Cliff unlock amount is 0 under the current NEXT schedule.

The supply lock is not permanent

The locked 85% of supply is scheduled to unlock after 10 years. Calling that supply lock permanent would be inaccurate.

What the permanent liquidity lock covers

The liquidity lock applies after Fair Launch NEXT graduates and its market migrates to Meteora DAMM v2. It covers the migrated LP position, not the token supply itself.

  • Creator claimable migrated LP: 0%.
  • LaunchMemes claimable migrated LP: 0%.
  • Creator-side permanently locked LP: 80%.
  • LaunchMemes-side permanently locked LP: 20%.
  • Total migrated LP permanently locked: 100%.

Why both numbers matter

The supply lock answers: when can these locked tokens become available? The LP lock answers: can the migrated liquidity position be withdrawn? They solve different problems and have different timelines.

Creator Rewards are a third concept

The 1.20% Creator Rewards portion is a trading-fee right. Claiming eligible fees does not unlock the 85% token supply and does not withdraw permanently locked LP.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 85% supply lock permanent?

No. It is configured for 10 years with a one-time unlock after the vesting duration.

Is 100% of the migrated LP permanent?

Yes. The current NEXT post-graduation configuration permanently locks 100% of migrated LP.

Does 80% creator-side LP mean the creator can withdraw 80%?

No. That 80% is creator-side permanently locked LP. Creator claimable LP is 0%.

Does claiming Creator Rewards affect either lock?

No. Trading-fee claims are separate from supply vesting and migrated LP ownership.
